What information do we collect?

We understand that you expect to learn about our company when you visit this web site. Similarly, we hope to learn about your needs as a current or potential customer or shareholder through your visits to this web site. From time to time our site requests information from users via contests. Like most standard Web site servers we use log files. What do we do with this information?

On occasion, My Internet Garage will provide opt-in opportunities to our users in order to receive product updates, promotional opportunities, and other information from My Internet Garage or other parties. At the point of signing up, it is clearly disclosed to users of our site when their information is being used or collected by any outside parties. We do this so our users can make an informed choice as to whether they should proceed with services that involve an outside party or not.

We store information that we collect through cookies, log files, clear .gifs, and/or third parties to create a profile of our users. A profile is stored information that we keep on individual users that details their viewing preferences. Consequently, collected information is tied to the user's personally identifiable information to provide offers and improve the content of the site for the user. This profile is used to tailor a user's visit to our web site, and to direct pertinent marketing promotions to them. Your profile is shared in aggregate form only.

What is "Share This Page/Refer a Friend"?

If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about pages of our site or promotions, we ask them for the friend's name and e-mail address. My Internet Garage will automatically send the friend a one-time e-mail inviting them to visit the site. My Internet Garage stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time e-mail.

What security measures are in place to protect my information?

This web site takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the web site, their information is protected both online and off-line. When our order forms ask users to enter sensitive information, that information is encrypted and is protected with standard encryption software in the industry - SSL. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just "surfing." While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user information off-line. All of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. But no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is ever 100% secure, however. Therefore, we recommend that you take every precaution necessary to protect your personal data when you are on the internet, such as changing your password often. And make sure you use a secure browser when surfing the web.

Live Chat / Forums
My Internet Garage provides live chat at forums that you may choose to participate in. Please be advised that you should not give out any personal information to other members and or visitors that you may come in contact with. My Internet Garage does not monitor or accept liability for any loss or actions resulting from use of this feature.

Privacy of Children
This web site is not designed for, or directed to, children under the age of 16 and will not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from individuals in this age group.
